Typo : you may read
This package needs to be tested on the opencpn version from core/release
(opencpn-5.8.4-2)

instead of
This package needs to be tested on the opencpn version from core/updates
(opencpn-5.8.4-2)

If you, Philippe, could give a pointer to testing it...
But thanks yet again for your sterling work on this application.
And yes, a bit late, it would have been better to bundles all these updates in one bug. But carry on as-is.

to test it you simply have to verify that the update is done without any problem

in the tools menu choose plugins
Then click on radar settings and select a radar (for instance Garmin)
Apply

Then click on the radar icon : a little window will inform you that the radar is not connected !

Advisory from comment 0 added to SVN. Please remove the "advisory" keyword if it needs to be changed. It also helps when obsolete advisories are tagged as "obsolete"

Mageia9, x86_64

Clean install.
Enabled the plugin but launching it from the toolbar produces a radar window centred on the boat, without any radar scanner being connected.
I have a feeling that this has been mixed up with the AIS radar view plugin tested earlier. Since this one seems to work we can agree that they have both been tested with positive outcomes. In any case, Philippe has already stated that all the plugins work for him.

But it's always good to have at least some confirmation from another party.

Philippe should remember a previous package/update that worked for him as maintainer, but did not even install for some others. That's why we have QA, to turn up that sort of thing before it goes out to the public.

Validating.
