Typo : you may read
This package needs to be tested on the opencpn version from core/release
(opencpn-5.8.4-2)

instead of
This package needs to be tested on the opencpn version from core/updates
(opencpn-5.8.4-2)

If you, Philippe, could give a pointer to testing it...
But thanks yet again for your sterling work on this application.
And yes, a bit late, it would have been better to bundles all these updates in one bug. But carry on as-is.

to test it you simply have to verify that the update is done without any problem

inside the tool menu choose plugins
then click on settings button of Objsearch
it will allow to create a database for the vectorial charts that you use in the area you choose with its coordinates
(of course you need to have vectorial charts)

Advisory from comment 0 added to SVN. Please remove the "advisory" keyword if it needs to be changed. It also helps when obsolete advisories are tagged as "obsolete"

Mageia9, x86_64
Clean installation of the search plugin.
Used 'options' to enable objsearch and
Verified that the vectorial charts for US_CA were installed in user directory.
$ tree -d Documents/Charts
Documents/Charts
└── RNC
    └── US_CA
        ├── 18010
        ├── 18020
        ├── 18022
        ├── 18600
......

Not able to use the object search facility - no idea of the format or scope of search term.
Giving this a tentative OK.
