to test it you simply have to verify that the update is done without any problem Then click on its icon inside the icons bar a window appears in which you can download meteo previsions for north Atlantic and Europe or for south Pacific These are txt files indicating locations of high or low pressure

Mageia9, x86_64 Clean update of the package. Enabled the plugin and launched the downloader. Nominated a directory for downloading the North Atlantic document. The file IAC_NOAA_A_2024-1-19_20-48.txt contained mainly integer data. So this looks OK.
