Typo : you may read
This package needs to be tested on the opencpn version from core/release
(opencpn-5.8.4-2)

instead of
This package needs to be tested on the opencpn version from core/updates

If you, Philippe, could give a pointer to testing it...
But thanks yet again for your sterling work on this application.

Comment 3 Philippe Didier 2024-01-17 20:26:51 CET
to test it you simply have to verify that the update is done without any problem

Then click on its icon inside the icons bar

a window appears where you can write the coordinates of a stellar object (planet or star) by clicking on "new" button

Advisory from comment 0 added to SVN. Please remove the "advisory" keyword if it needs to be changed. It also helps when obsolete advisories are tagged as "obsolete"

Mageia9 x86_64
opencpn-celestial-navigation-plugin-2.4.40.0-1.git20231108.1.mga9.x86_64.rpm updated cleanly.
Opened the application with the south-western USA seaboard displayed.
Enabled celestial navigation and refreshed the menu bar. The celestial navigation widget was visible. Clicked on it to set Arcturus as a reference point - do not know if that made sense. Looks good.
