Description Rémi Verschelde 2023-12-06 20:08:32 CET
This provides the latest version of gamemode, which adds a couple new features and fixes some bugs.

gamemode is a tool/daemon (typically used by running a program with `gamemoderun <command>`) which sets a number of performance-focused CPU and GPU settings to improve gaming experience (more frames per second, no screensaver during play, etc.).

It's not a core dependency for any package in the distro, so I think it's fine to update in Mageia 9 to provide the new features, there's no risk of work disruption.

Advisory:
=========

Updated gamemode packages provide latest feature release

  This update to gamemode 1.8 notably adds support for CPU core pinning and
  parking capability, and fixes a number of bugs. See the changelog for details.

Advisory from comment 0 added to SVN. Please remove the "advisory" keyword if it needs to be changed. It also helps when obsolete advisories are tagged as "obsolete"

@ Dave Hodgins,

This update is listed as "enhancement" in https://madb.mageia.org/tools/updates

Is that OK, or is it better to change the severity of this report to "Normal"?

Comment 3 Rémi Verschelde 2023-12-07 14:58:55 CET
At least in the past I believe we've made use of the priority. I've always set it accordingly whenever my updates are low priority.

---

Tested this one on Mageia 9 x86_64, it seems to work in basic usage. I didn't try to do custom configuration.
