Description Julien Moragny 2023-11-23 00:25:06 CET
Description of problem:

On mageia cauldron 32 bits (x86 or armv7hl), imagemagick tools crash with a bizarre error related to time limit (the message below appear immediately after invocation):

[jules@localhost wallpapers]$ display this-is-not-windows.jpg
display: time limit exceeded `this-is-not-windows.jpg' @ fatal/cache.c/GetImagePixelCache/1702.

you can see the same message in our buildsystem with convert (at the end of the log) which block the update of claws-mail:
i586:
http://pkgsubmit.mageia.org/uploads/failure/cauldron/core/release/20231120210114.julien.duvel.1804530/botcmd.1700514128.armv7hl.ociaa1.log
armv7hl:
http://pkgsubmit.mageia.org/uploads/failure/cauldron/core/release/20231120210114.julien.duvel.1804530/botcmd.1700514125.i586.rabbit.log

the problem occurs with most of the tools of imagemagick (display, convert, animate, composite, compare, import, mogrify, montage, stream) and also when some are invoked without a real file:
[jules@localhost ~]$ LANG=C display false_image.jpg
display: unable to open image 'false_image.jpg': No such file or directory @ error/blob.c/OpenBlob/3573.
display: time limit exceeded `LOGO' @ fatal/cache.c/GetImagePixelCache/1702.

The problem doesn't exist in mga9 with version 7.1.1.11

thanks
julien
