Description Rémi Verschelde 2023-10-25 13:13:23 CEST
Mageia 9 shipped with Godot 4.0.3, but we released version 4.1 shortly after, and it's now at 4.1.2 after a couple patch releases. It's time to update :)

Advisory:
=========

Updated godot packages provide latest supported stable release

This update provides Godot 4.1.2, the current latest patch release in the
  supported 4.1 branch.

The 4.0 branch is close to end of life and the 4.1 branch is compatible with
  4.0 projects in most cases.

Please refer to the Godot 4.1 release notes, and the migration guide, for
relevant info on porting projects. You can also download Godot 4.0.4 binaries
from the Godot website if you need to stay on that branch for a project.

Note that there are currently no packaged games/apps using Godot 4 in Mageia 9, so only Godot itself should be tested.

We have some Godot apps packaged but they all use Godot 3 (godot3-runner) which is a different package.

Advisory from comment 0 added to SVN. Please remove the "advisory" keyword if it needs to be changed. It also helps when obsolete advisories are tagged as "obsolete"

Mageia9, x86_64

Installed godot and godot-runner.
Before updating godot allowed access to the tile-matching game. That seemed to be working (?). Also followed the link to the Youtube tutorial but did not take it any further.

After updating, which pulled in blender and numerous libraries, created the user godot directory and ran godot directly. That displayed the Project Manager interface and noted that the earlier project was missing. Backed out and cleared .local/share/godot/ and started again. The project manager confirmed that there were no assets available for version 4.1.
Created new project and switched to editor, which launched the blender interface. Nothing to do there without any project assets. Used help to access online documentation - all up to date for version 4.1. Backed out and saved the empty project.

Nothing unexpected there so this can probably be sent on.
