Thierry, can you reproduce? I don't use emacs at all.
I'm not used to emacs, either. When I type (alt x) shell RET I get M-x shell-RET M-x is nicely colored blue, I don't find a way to remove the dash between shell and RET, but I doubt that is what Kamil meant. Kamil, can you provide a screenshot of what you mean by "annoying characters"?

I see them, when following the instructions. Kamil, you mean those two ^ ? But looking again into colorprompt code (a 32 line bash script), I see nothing that could produce them. I assume it to be a problem with emacs, not colorprompt.

I see no such thing in Cauldron. Might be a Mageia 1 only issue which we don't support anymore. What about Mageia 2?
