Description Eduardo Mestre 2023-10-17 06:01:21 CEST
Description of problem:

When trying to configure blind from drakconf it closes.

When configuring bind as master, it requests the external DNS server, then the default search domain, shows the values with which Blind will be configured, and after a few seconds the wizard closes.

The terminal shows this messages:

can't open /usr/share/wizards/dns_wizard/scripts/master for reading: No such file or directory
Too late to run INIT block at /usr/lib64/perl5/vendor_perl/Glib/Object/Introspection.pm line 257.

Note: This output shows SysV services only and does not include native
systemd services. SysV configuration data might be overridden by native
      systemd configuration.

If you want to list systemd services use 'systemctl list-unit-files'.
To see services enabled on particular target use
      'systemctl list-dependencies [target]'.

Thank you for this careful report; and apologies for the inconvenience.
[Wonder whether 'blind' means 'bind']
Can you say whether this worked on Mageia 8?

The file '/usr/share/wizards/dns_wizard/scripts/master' does not show up with urpmf; but
 $ urpmf /usr/share/wizards/dns_wizard/scripts
drakwizard:/usr/share/wizards/dns_wizard/scripts
drakwizard:/usr/share/wizards/dns_wizard/scripts/127.0.0.rev.default
drakwizard:/usr/share/wizards/dns_wizard/scripts/domain.db.default
drakwizard:/usr/share/wizards/dns_wizard/scripts/host.conf.default
drakwizard:/usr/share/wizards/dns_wizard/scripts/ipnet.rev.default
drakwizard:/usr/share/wizards/dns_wizard/scripts/named.conf.default
drakwizard:/usr/share/wizards/dns_wizard/scripts/root.hints.default

drakwizard has not apparently changed for years; but the last version cited in Cauldron is 4.10; perhaps 4.11 comes from the subsequent "rework getting proper interface and routing info."
Assigning to Tools.

Comment 2 Eduardo Mestre 2023-10-18 16:41:36 CEST
I don't know if it worked in Mageia 8. I had to replace the hard drive of my home server that had been running for years due to its sudden death and I couldn't save the configuration (backups are for cowards). The truth is that I don't remember the original installation version, or how I configured the DNS, whether with the Wizard, with Webmin, or with vim.

But in any case, I find it interesting to solve the problem, since drakconf is one of the differentiating features of Mageia.
