Description of problem:since the new version of cups, printing a simple document (pdf, jpeg,...) with my HP-ColorLaserJet-MFP-283 is a nightmare: needs to wait at least 10 or 15 mn before it begins to print; removing this printer in mcc, rebooting and reinstalling it with mcc doesn't ameliorate the situation; but when it has began to print, the speed is almost normal Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable): How reproducible: Steps to Reproduce: 1. 2. 3.
sorry, I've written 10 to 15 mn, in fact it takes (see localhost:631 which precisely indicates the time of beginning a task and the time of achieving it) it needs about 3 to 5 mn, which is already a long time I apologize for this error of time estimation
Sorry for your angst. It looks as if the original version of CUPS for Mageia 9 was: cups-2.4.6-1 On my system, it was updated to cups-2.4.6-1.1 on 11th October. Probably similar for you. Can you say whether the slow printing dates from this update?

Created attachment 14051 [details] screenshot using spectacle of my printer's status (HPtoolbox)
Please confirm that printing was normal prior to the update. You can find out when it was done on your system with: $ rpm -qa --last | grep ^cups-2.4.6

Have you tried downgrading? - At least you can work happier :)

Another thing: I'm pretty sure that I've seen warnings when updating cups (in cauldron) that some functionality was going to be replaced or deprecated. Don't remember what exactly it was, but it makes me think that removing and re-installing your printer might also solve the problem.

Wait a bit, then close works.
(In reply to Lewis Smith from comment #13) > Wait a bit, then close works. printer works well with the actual cups version
Thank you for this encouraging feedback.
