Description of problem:

For all who are wondering that mtink (status monitor for Epson Stylus printers) doesn't notice Epson USB inkjet printers: The reason for this is that actual
mageia kernels are build with CONFIG_USB_PRINTERS set to NO. 
The update kernel 2.6.38.8-7.mga-1-1.mga1 which can be found in core/updates_testing at the moment solves this issue.
