Description of problem:

The capt printer drivers for canon printers donot work on Mageia

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):

Latest release

How reproducible:

Capt printer drivers are available for RPM based distributions like RedHat etc. These drivers work well on these distributions but do not on Mageia distributions 8, 9

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Download capt printer driver from Canon website.
2. Install it on Mageia
3. Connect a supported canon printer like G3010
4. The printer does not work.

It looks as if Canon printers are not supported directly by CUPS.
Digging around, there was confusion between inkjet and laser printers; and no mention of Capt chez Canon.

which has a list of different drivers for inkjet & multifunction.

> 1. Download capt printer driver from Canon website.
Exactly which one, from where?

> 2. Install it on Mageia
How did you do this?

> 3. Connect a supported canon printer like G3010
Where did you find the list of supported printers? I only found printer-to-driver links, not driver-to-printers.

If we can do something about this, so much the better. But it does not look straightforward. Can you add anything helpful?
