It looks as if Canon printers are not supported directly by CUPS. Digging around, there was confusion between inkjet and laser printers; and no mention of Capt chez Canon. Link for "PIXMA G Series ... Product Model List" https://in.canon/en/support/models?series=31&category=11&range=5 Link for the G3010 https://in.canon/en/support/PIXMA%20G3010/model which has a list of different drivers for inkjet & multifunction. Link for Linux RPM driver for PIXMA G2770; I could not see 3010 shown here; nor any mention of Capt. https://in.canon/en/support/0101179101?model=5804C Link for "Installing Canon Printer Drivers on Linux: A Step-by-Step Guide" https://www.linuxfordevices.com/tutorials/linux/install-canon-printer-drivers-on-linux openprinting CAPT page https://www.openprinting.org/driver/capt/ Other possibly useful links: "Canon LBP printers drivers installer for Ubuntu" https://github.com/hieplpvip/ubuntu_canon_printer "Canon CAPT - ArchWiki" https://wiki.archlinux.org/title/Canon_CAPT > 1. Download capt printer driver from Canon website. Exactly which one, from where? > 2. Install it on Mageia How did you do this? > 3. Connect a supported canon printer like G3010 Where did you find the list of supported printers? I only found printer-to-driver links, not driver-to-printers. If we can do something about this, so much the better. But it does not look straightforward. Can you add anything helpful?
