Description Colin Guthrie 2011-10-31 10:50:50 CET
Advisory text
=============

The Phonon version shipped with Mageia 1 had issues with the device priority lists for capture devices.

1. The device categories shown were incorrectly labelled in CamelCase (where the first part was not intended to be public).
2. The priority lists could not be saved and were thus ineffective.

This updates fixes the above problems and several other minor bugs.

Note: as per recent discussions on the mailing list I've not included a subrel here as this is a version bump and would require a needless rebuild in cauldron. I can easily add a subrel if needed.

For verification, both points mentioned above are visible under KDE System Settings -> Multimedia -> Phonon (you will have to quit and reenter the UI to see the problems identified by point 2).

You mean the output from pulseaudio should not be selectable
as the capture source?

If so, both bugs confirmed on i586 mageia 1, and the update
fixes it.

Before the update, the sub options under Audio Capture show
several sources, such as PulseAudio Sound Server, with
Internal Audio Analog Stereo as the first option. Changing
the preference and restarting system settings, the preference
change is not remembered.

After the update, only the Internal and the mic on my webcam
are shown. Changing the preference sticks on a restart of
systemsettings.

Oh that's another bug I forgot to mention! Lots of fixes :D

Feel free to add this to the advisory text:

3. The device list shown for capture devices was a composite of devices known by PulseAudio and also devices and plugins detected outside of PulseAudio (including a generic PulseAudio output plugin). When PulseAudio is in use it should be used as the sole source of device information and the other devices should be suppressed.
