Description Jose Manuel López 2023-09-07 11:25:57 CEST
Description of problem: I have updated various laptops and others computers from Mageia 8 with urpmi commands. All ok for the moment, but I have checked that the Screen charge before the Screen login don't update. I have checked splash theme and all the Mageia images look updated, but this screen still appears from Mageia 8.

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable): Screen charge Mageia 9

How reproducible: Update to Mageia 9 from Mageia 8 with urpmi commands and reboot.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Update to Mageia 9 with urpmi commands.
2. Reboot
3. Screen charge is of Mageia 8.

Thanks to another user in the Spanish community, I solved it using "plymouth-set-default-theme Mageia-Default" in terminal as root.

This is a solution to the problem after updating, but we would have to see why the change was not made correctly during the update to Mageia 9.

Greetings!

I've checked that updating from mgaonline with GUI, also happens this.

Did I understand correctly that it is only the image shown before the login screen that is old?

Summary: Updating from Mageia 8 by urpmi commands, => Upgrading from Mageia 8, boot splash is still from Mageia 8

I thought there was an earlier bug about this, but cannot find it (if there was one).
Assigning to the 'tools' people.

Any news about this bug? A few days ago I updated a computer from Mageia 8 to 9 and the problem continues to appear.

Did the package mageia-theme be updated ?
I check the paths and all look in place
If you run dracut -f and reboot the boot theme is mageia 9 ?

What I can confirm is the file back.jpg in /usr/share/gfxboot/themes/Mageia/boot/message is not the current mageia background, is the mageia 7 version https://wiki.mageia.org/en/Wallpaper#Mageia_7
Comment 8 Jose Manuel López 2024-09-13 09:24:14 CEST
This has not been updated, the Mageia 7 fund still appears to me, as commented on comment 7.

Any advance in Cauldron?
