Description of problem: Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable): 9.0 How reproducible: I assume always. I didn't try installing a second time. Steps to Reproduce: 1. Install Mageia 9 from DVD. 2. Get to the end and get told to remove the installation media and reboot. 3. The installation media cannot be removed despite the instruction saying to do so. 4. *After* I reboot the PC and it turns off and on, the DVD can finally be removed. This is a fairly trivial issue, but it does look like some kind of bug. This looks as though the DVD was mounted and it couldn't be ejected because it wasn't unmounted, but testing shows that I can eject a mounted DVD, so I don't know what's going on.
Thank you for the report, and apologies for your angst.

It appears the method the classical installer uses to eject the DVD no longer works. I had noticed that when testing ISOs in VirtualBox, but as nobody reported the issue on real hardware I assumed it was just another VirtualBox bug. The Live ISOs use a different method to eject the media, which does still work.
I confirm the issue on real hardware, exactly as described by Ken in comment 0.
