The feature has been available since kernel 5.15 and e2fsprogs 1.47.0.

fsarchiver 0.8.7 supports it.

qt-fsarchiver-terminal should be also patched or updated as it bundles fsarchiver.

Fixed in cauldron with fsarchiver-0.8.7-1.mga10 and qt-fsarchiver-terminal-0.8.6.7-2.mga10.

For Errata 9: When in updates, update the text for Bug 32136 in https://wiki.mageia.org/en/Mageia_9_Errata#Various_software to say there is a capable fsarchiver in updates.

The following 3 packages are going to be installed:

- fsarchiver-0.8.7-1.mga9.x86_64
- glibc-2.36-49.mga9.x86_64
- qt-fsarchiver-terminal-0.8.6.7-1.1.mga9.x86_64

587KB of additional disk space will be used.


backed up two partitions using command line - worked as expected
restored partitions after performing a MGA8 to MGA9 upgrade on that drive - worked as expected.


Installed the qt object on another machine, added user to "wheel" group and was able to use the front-end.  Working as designed.
