Description of problem:Kmail does not download messages properly Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):Kmail 5.23.1 (23.04.1) How reproducible: more often than not Steps to Reproduce: 1.Kmail is set to "download mail on startup." 2.It doesn't always download mail. 3. Kmail says I have 13 new e-mails in my inbox. However, none of them show up in the message list. They eventually do show up....many minutes later. As a test (I have Kmail set to leave the messages on the server until I delete them), I tried the same test with the latest version of Mozilla Thunderbird. It downloaded ALL the messages with no problem
I rebooted my computer. That seemed to fix it (just restarting Kmail did NOT fix it.)
So is the problem solved?
no. I've updated everything to v. 23.04.1. How it comes up with an error sending saying it can't store, but the message does send.

Please confirm the exact version; the current one is kmail-23.04.1-2.mga9 (the final -2 does make a difference, but maybe that is what you now have).

That is the version I am using. Kmail has come up with odd error messages, too.

I use Thuinderbird but have have had similar error messages when my ISP have problems, such as sending by SMTP succeeded, but there are failure on IMAP when it tries to move the message to the "sent" remote folder. What connection protocols do you use?

I am using SMTP and POP3. This morning, my inbox says I have 10 new-emails. But they have not shown up yet...:-(

My main computer...it said 10 messages, but only one message came through. I'm wondering if part of the problem is actually my ISP
(In reply to Lloyd Osten from comment #5) > Kmail has come up with odd error messages, too. Can you please be more specific? Post these error messages. For example, you said comment 3 that Kmail complains about not being able to send messages, but does actually send them.

For example, you > said comment 3 that Kmail complains about not being able to send messages, > but does actually send them. So, yesterrday, Kmail decided to download a whole bunch of messages. Usually, I get about 30-40 messages a day. Yesterday, I got 4000+ (I leave my messages on the server.
This is the exact error message I got: E-Mail Sending Failed Failed to store result in item. [LLCONFLICT] Resource_Akonadi_Maildir_Resource_0 tries to modify item 15370 (1688736098927.R560.nascar) (in Collection 42) with revision 0; the item was modified elsewhere and has revision 1, aborting STORE
Thank you for this precision. Assigning to neoclust who looks to nurse Kmail.

(In reply to Lewis Smith from comment #12) > Thank you for this precision. > Assigning to neoclust who looks to nurse Kmail. I have found out what causes the "e-mail failed to send message." It turns out to be....the spam filter. As soon as I disabled it, the error message went away.
Which spam filter? A local service in your system, or at your ISP?
My computer…spamassassin
So a spamassassin / Kmail clash. By design or configuration. I guess that is nothing we at Mageia can do about. I think you should ask in a Kmail or spamassassin forum.
