Mageia theme is not Mageia wallpaper. Even if you apply Mageia theme Mageia, Plasma wallpaper is not updated. Mageia theme is shortcut, reactivation of virtual desktops, different font than Plasma default ones... So I disagree with the duplicate. One problem is Mageia theme not be selected at installation (this bug). The other one is Mageia wallpaper not be set (even if you set Mageia theme) bug 31816.

Sorry to have left you. Plasma Settings-Appearance-Global Theme On my Cauldron multi-desktop system, I notice that 'Breeze' looks to be active, while another offer is 'Mageia my Breeze'. I need to log into Plasma to see the difference. But wait! > the theme selected by default is Breeze instead of 'Breeze by Mageia'. Why do you think this is wrong - that the Mageia variant should be the installed default? You were explicit about using the standard=classic ISO; Plasma only. I wonder if it happens with the Live Plasma. And (to see) whether it matters...

Well, here I am under Plasma and litttle the wiser. Changing the theme from installed Breeze to Mageia my Breeze, without ticking 'Desktop & window layout', I did not notice any resulting difference - even if there was one. Re-doing Mageia my Breeze, ticking 'Desktop & window layout', just changed the background to a mountain scene; even if there were additional changes. (Is this your related bug 31816?).

@Lewis, no problem. Fixing the wallpaper seems to be a challenge and it's priority. Yes, I think Breeze by Mageia should be the default one. If we add an extra theme to KDE, I think it is to be used. Differences are not straightforward. You can easily check it by connecting to a default KDE session with Breeze, in the hamburger menu, use : "Highlight modified parameters" and now apply the "Breeze by Mageia" theme. Differences will be highlighted. Of course, we can say that we prefer to stay with Breeze by default. But for users, it will be strange to have a Mageia theme proposed but not selected. It's the opposite of what most others distributions do.
Hum, you're right. I have a strange behaviour. 1. Just install the standard ISO with KDE as the only desktop. 2. Connect to Plasma and go to systemsettings. 3. Check "Highlight change" in Hamburger menu. 4. Change theme to "Breeze by Mageia" (I have ticked Desktop and Windos Layout") 5. Some categories are highlighted as they have been changed (like Policies) 6. Go back to Breeze theme. 7. The categories are still highlighted and nothing change So, is it a bug in Plasma "Highlight changes" ? Or in theme changing ?
It looks like if you change from 'Breeze' to "Breeze by Mageia", some things do change; but if you change back, changes indicated do *not* happen. That would be a fault, which can ride on the back of this bug. Assigning to KDE/Plasma for both issues.

Is this issue still valid on current mga9 stable release?
I tested the standard ISO on VirtualBox and the issue is fixed. Breeze by Mageia is correctly applied. It can be closed.
So closing!
