Hello Today I did a fresh install using Mageia-9-beta2-x86_64.iso, I noticed that net_applet was not running, I connected using mageia mcc and installed plasma-applet-nm, ran systemctl enable networkmanager then systemctl start networkmanager, restarted mageia, I tried to connected using plasma-applet-nm it asked me for my WIFI key, I typed it in and later got a window asking for it over and over again since it didn't take it, so I rebooted. Once rebooted it was connected automatically, so it did take it but, to my surprise, net_applet was also running. This annoying problem with plasma-apple-nm is one reason I moved back to net_applet with mageia 8.. Do you recommended continue using mageia net_applet instead of networkmanager? Regards
Please check the wiki how to properly change to networkmanager: https://wiki.mageia.org/en/Switching_to_networkmanager
@Ezequiel > Do you recommended continue using mageia net_applet instead of > networkmanager? Did comment 1 help you? As for 'recommending', it really is up to the user. Most people are happy with net_applet. Your original complaint looks valid: > net_applet was not running, I connected using mageia mcc and installed > plasma-applet-nm, ran systemctl enable networkmanager then systemctl start > networkmanager, restarted mageia, I tried to connected using > plasma-applet-nm it asked me for my WIFI key, I typed it in and later got a > window asking for it over and over again This is certainly wrong. > Once rebooted it was connected automatically, so it did take it but, to my > surprise, net_applet was also running. Happy ending. Does net_applet cause any problems for NM?
