Foolishness, my enduring Dell Inspiron 5100, P4, Radeon RV200 graphics, ath3 Atheros wifi, mga8-32 Xfce system, using the desktop kernel. No installation issues. Everything seems to work after the reboot, though it is slow due to the limitations of the hardware.
