Description of problem: purple-hangouts is dead upstream (and at less not working for mes, i have constant disconnections) and now the developer focus in https://github.com/EionRobb/purple-googlechat. i modify fedora's package and the plugin works https://ftp.blogdrake.net/mageia/9/free/SRPMS/purple-googlechat-0-2.20221106gitb6b824abdk_mga9.src.rpm

Thanks katnatek for the information, and DavidG for doing the thing for Cauldron. Unsure for M8: would it have to be in backports? Does it matter enough to do that?

Mageia 8 users have the old 'purple-hangouts' for this functionality, unmaintained though it may be. Presumably it works for most people. I think we can close this fixed for M9, and re-open if necessary for M8.
