Hello. I've tested both the CI and net-install (non-free) ISOs and wrote an email on @dev/@qa detailing my findings. One thing that remains the same between the installs is the lack of "xz" to compress the drakx logs after installation. Pasting the email here: "I just did a testrun of the CI 9b1 in vmware and here are my findings. 1. There is a bug in the installer. See attached image. It was unable to select a mirror automatically and when I clicked "Back", it exited to the "Reboot" screen. 2. Trying to add online media, aria2 exits with code 1 using ftp and code 19 using https (no media.cfg file found) 3. When the installer tried to compress the install log file with xz, it stated that xz is not available. I chose to install without recommended packages and without documentation. The install comes in at 661MB used disk space. That's up a few hundred MB since mga7 or mga8, if I recall correctly." The installed disk usage from the net-install comes in at 873MB on /dev/sda1 from 417 packages. Had to install xz to get urpmf to work. Regarding point 1, Martin W said: "The dialogue would have displayed: Failure when adding medium Retry? but the buttons are poorly labelled. The source code calls a function called "ask_okcancel", but in the installer "OK" and "Cancel" are relabelled "Next" and "Previous" which isn't appropriate in this case." On point 2, Martin said: "When I try running ifuo in a minimal install it reports "Can't find a dhcp client". It would seem the minimal install is a bit too minimal." On point 3, he said: "Almost certainly a consequence of doing a minimal install."
