Description Timothée Giet 2023-03-20 20:48:42 CET
Description of problem:

After a fresh install of Mageia 9 beta 1 (from live plasma iso), I noticed that all the desktop plasmoids for system monitoring are not working. When opening their config, we see that actually no sensor is available at all.

Then I found that only after installing plasma-systemmonitor, they work. I'm just not sure if they directly require directly plasma-systemmonitor, or if they miss a dependency which was brought by plasma-systemmonitor.

Also on a side note, maybe it could be good to add plasma-systemmonitor by default in plasma-desktop meta-package ?

Oh, actually I've updated this install just after making this bug report, and saw an update of task-plasma5, and now I see that plasma-systemmonitor is required by it, which is probably the way to fix this issue...

So I guess you can already close it as fixed :)

Thank you for the report.

 $ urpmq --requires task-plasma5 | grep monitor
plasma-systemmonitor
 $ urpmq --whatrequires plasma-systemmonitor | grep task
task-plasma5

As it should be. Confirms your conclusion.
