Description Pierre Jarillon 2011-03-09 13:46:11 CET
When Mageia is starting, kdm is set on tty8 (instead of 7) and numlock is set on all tty[1..8].
On tty7 is displayed a message:
Lancement de netprofile : The default is the current profile [ OK ]
recherche de nouveaux périphériques

As soon as kde is started, from kdm, numlock is switched off on all ttys.
The service numlock is active in MCC.

Is it specific to KDE?
Ie does it happens too if you use GNOME instead?

@Pierre
it could be a bug of enable_X11_numlock.
please, could you try if the following package fixes this bug:
for i586
http://web.supagro.inra.fr/partage/menut/numlock-2.1.2-5.0.1.mga1.i586.rpm

for x86_64
http://web.supagro.inra.fr/partage/menut/numlock-2.1.2-5.0.1.mga1.x86_64.rpm

@Arnaud
if the package "numlock" is not installed in your case, #1099 is a different bug, and not a duplicate of this one.

I have installed numlock-2.1.2-5.0.1.mga1.x86_64.rpm with urpmi
It works fine. Congratulations.

Il works also with Mandriva 2010.2

thanks for the feedback; this confirms it's a duplicate of #1136.

Fixed with numlock package.
Bug 1136 is a duplicate of this bug, not the other way around.

A duplicate of bug 1136, because the reporter's problem is only fixed with the custom package Luc Menut built (numlock-2.1.2-5.0.1.mga1), which aren't in the official repos yet IIUC.
