Description Pavel Kreuzt 2023-03-04 18:15:50 CET
Description of problem:

Since I needed to install usbip, and no package available in Mageia, I found the project had been merged in mainline kernel and needed only a couple extra utils to work (usbip and usbipd). Supposedly these binaries are built with kernel tree. We already have the kernel modules build and present on standard, but no tools are available anywhere. Other distros seem to package them along other rarely used kernel tools as "linux-tools" or "linux-tools-generic", or separately on their own "usbip" package. Could we have those packaged somehow?

Version: 8 => Cauldron

source for that lives in upstream kernel tarball...

I've long thought about adding kernel-tools subpackage, but I haven't gotten around to it...

I guess it's time to try and get it done...
