Description of problem: When rebooting, for example, to go into my chainloaded Windows installation, My screen shows "no signal" until late in the boot process (after the boot menu). If I choose shutdown instead of reboot, and then manually boot up, everything works as it should. This is an all AMD system with a 4k tv as a monitor via HDMI. I am able to blindly choose what to boot from memory. Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable): grub2-efi 2.06 1.1.mga8 How reproducible: Every time. Steps to Reproduce: 1. Choose "reboot" from the Mageia login screen, then no boot menu screen will become visible. 2. Choose "shutdown" from the Mageia login screen, and then boot up again, the boot menu screen will be visible. 3.
Following a suggestion, I have found that tapping the "shift" key during reboot does bring up the grub menu properly for some reason.
I should add that when I choose "reboot" from windows, it does reboot to the grub boot menu correctly.
Assigning to all packagers collectively, because there is no registered maintainer for this package. Can anyone reproduce this issue in Cauldron (Mageia 9)? It would be great if Mageia 9 isn't affected.

Apparently one of the recent updates must have solved the problem, as it is currently functioning as it should. That is, upon choosing reboot from the Mageia 8 login screen, video is displayed after the reboot in time to see the grub boot menu. I'm sorry I don't have any specifics about what solved the problem. I will mark the bug reports status as "resolved".
