Description Kristoffer Grundström 2023-01-24 13:19:01 CET
Description of problem: I found an interesting package in PCLinuxOS that apprently fixes problems related to touchscreens so I decided to fork this to Mageia. The maker of this package says that this means that noone should be forced to tinker with the default config file anymore if they install this package.

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable): 0.1.9

- this thread which you refer in your spec is from 2011: how is it applicable to an up to date Xorg/operating system?
- your spec does not provide a proper source URL (no source available in a forum!)
- your spec refers to a highly outdated package from PCLinuxOS which is from 2011 (x11-driver-input-synaptics-1.4.1-2pclos2011.i586.rpm): how is this applicaple to Mageia with x11-driver-input-synaptics-1.9.1-3.mga8 and x11-driver-input-synaptics-1.9.2-1.mga9?
- the description refers to an heavily outdated Xorg 1.10.2
- .... and more....
Comment 3 sturmvogel 2023-01-24 17:13:57 CET
This needs so much fixing before packaging it for Mageia:
- this "tool" refers to the "New xorg 1.10.2" in its GUI
- scriptlet fails whilst installation
- spelling errors in the GUI
- refers to openSUSE in GUI
- ...

Trawling this rather late... Sorry.
In the light of sturmvogel's observations, we should close this. Messing with 12-year old fixes... Other inconsistencies (touchpad|touchscreen), no justification.
