The important part of the attachment can be cut down to ...
    24/91: mageia-theme-Default-screensaver
                                 #############################################
defaulting background resolution to 1024x768
sh: -c: line 0: syntax error near unexpected token `hd0,0'
sh: -c: line 0: `/bin/zcat (hd0,0)/boot/initrd.img 2> /dev/null | /bin/cpio -t &> /dev/null'

Looks like the bootloader config is messed up.

How are you installing? Using a dvd, livecd, etc?

Comment 3 Palm Pre 2011-10-22 06:35:46 CEST
I filed bug 619 a while ago about background resolution. It was closed as old.

`hd0,0' has backtick and single qoute signs. That's my question.

BTW, I have LVM installation with /boot on LVM. Script is looking for (hd0,0). It's not here.

How did you install with /boot on lvm ? I don't think grub support booting from lvm.

Grub2 does.

I have Debian with Grub2 to boot LVM installations.
Comment 6 Nicolas Vigier 2011-10-22 13:04:11 CEST
Mageia 1 use grub 1.
