Thank you for the request. Note it is for M8. I think the latest M8 version is 2020.3.11-1; we have version 2020.3.13 in Cauldron. This request is for more recent again, 2020.3.17. Assigning to ChrisD who looks after this.

Simgear, flightgear and flightgear-data bug fix release 2020.3.17 landing in updates_testing (we were at version 2020.3.13 both on mga8 and cauldron). To test, install them, and, in a terminal enter: fgfs --launcher Play around. If you want to fly a plane, don't forget to allow "enabling terrasync", which downloads the scenery where you start. If you don't, you'll be in water. Hello I have activated the depot testing, the miror, updated deposits, It didn't work. So I installed this new version 2020.03.17 with RPM links Flightgear works perfectly. Tried 2 planes (Concorde and Rafale), took off from 2 airports. J ai donc installé cette nouvelle version 2020.03.17 avec les liens des RPM Flightgear fonctionne parfaitement. Essayé 2 avions (concorde et rafale), décollé de 2 aéroports. C'est ok pour moi.
I used qarepo to download the packages from the math.princeton mirror, and updated with no issues. No idea why Ami's download didn't work to update. I launched it twice, once from the command line as instructed, once from the Plasma menu. Not much of a flightgear user; I forget what I'm doing between update tests. But, I was able to auto-start the Cessna, advance the throttle, and use keyboard and mouse to careen about the airport being a menace to buildings and landscape. Seems to be working as designed, and I'm going to take Ami's word for it that the planes will actually fly. Giving this an OK, and validating. Advisory in Comment 3
