Spot the difference; subtle...
This is correct under Mate at least, will try under Gnome.

Gnome showing the correct icon

So cannot reproduce. Although my system is Cauldron updated from M8, if that matters.
 pavucontrol-5.0-2.mga9

Does this happen with you on an up-to-date Gnome system?

Just noticed all 'my' icons are very slightly different from your example. No idea what theme here.

Ever confirmed: 1 => 0

Yes, it does matter. up to date Gnome from alpha1 ISO, both Live and CI.

in a virtual terminal just run *drakebug*
Comment 7 Ben McMonagle 2022-11-14 23:30:12 CET
oops: *drakbug* as root
Comment 8 Lewis Smith 2022-11-15 21:55:30 CET
Done that, it shows Adwaita. But LxQt seems to indicate Breeze. I changed it to Adwaita (no change visible), will go back to Gnome. Tomorrow!
Comment 9 Lewis Smith 2022-11-17 09:31:08 CET
After much experimentation with 'themes' (which can be called something else) and 'icon themes', discovering on different desktops how to change them, I have pinned this particular missing icon to Adwaita *icon theme*, which is why I saw it correctly: my icon theme was Breeze. I experimented between Adwaita & Breeze application/general themes, and Adwaita & Breeze icon themes under both of those, on different desktops, Gnome included.
The application theme is not relevant; nor the desktop.

https://bugs.mageia.org/attachment.cgi?id=13495 is the screenshot that shows it, just to the left of "Built-in Audio..."
Changing priority because the fault is really subtle to spot.

Assigning globally, no particular packager in sight.

This should be now workarounded with adwaita-icon-theme-43-3.mga9, but see also bug 30921, comment 4.

adwaita-icon-theme-43-3.mga9
Running pavucontrol with Adwaita Icons theme, on LxQt, the icon is now correctly there.
Thanks Jani.
@Ben: confirm when you can.

Comment 12 Ben McMonagle 2022-12-14 09:25:27 CET
thanks Jani.

Gnome i586 install from beta1 CI.iso issue apparent.
after update issue resolved.

as a new round of .isos is likely soon (once missing sound is fixed) I will check the Live Gnome and CI x86_64 Gnome then.

if issue unresolved then, will re-open.
