Can you please say more about this?
It implies thyat you successfully used kdeconnect previously *with Mageia 8*.
Do you mean Magei 7 ? Because it seems that the package in question:
 kdeconnect-kde-20.12.0-1.mga8.src.rpm
is the only one so far for MGA8. So if it used to work, but does not now, this must be due to an update of some other component.

If it used to work, can you say roughly when it stopped working?
Can you relate the change to a recent update? Perhaps on the device you are tryng to connect to?

TIA

Hi there, thank you for your swift response.

It was still working with mga8 a couple of weeks ago but it's hard to say when it stopped!
I have 2 Samsung that are still associated but my mga laptop doesn't see them anymore.

I have just tried a connection with Linux Mint and Mageia can see it!
The issue seems to be with Android phones.

Not sure how I can troubleshoot this problem, any recommendations?

Merci

Personally, sorry, no.
But have you tried a Mageia forum? This is usually the best place to air a problem like this. The French one is very good.

Thank you for your response: "a connection with Linux Mint and Mageia can see it. The issue seems to be with Android phones"

CC'ing sturmvegal who may know more.
En attente.

Do you still have problems?

I have been running kdeconnect for years, with android variants without problem, currently Fairphone3+ with /e/ murena OS. ( https://e.foundation/ )

Happy to close this issue, it's running fine now.
KDE Connect can sometime be capricious but it usually do the job.
Thank you for the follow up.
