I have a large ISO which I copied successfully from a commercial disk. The ISO is: [ftg@ftgme2 /data/DVDFab/ISO/Clone]$ ls -l ANNA* -rw-r--r-- 1 ftg ftg 8518033408 Sep 27 16:44 ANNA.iso This is pretty large, but it came from a double-layer DVD and the copying software had no problem with reading it. However, when I try to burn the image with k3b, the burning completes without error but the verification phase fails with read errors on the burned disk when comparing it to the original ISO. This happens reliably on two separate cauldrons using three different burner drives. Smaller ISOs burn with no problems. There used to be options called "overburn" (or some such) but I can't find them in the k3b burn dialog any more. If k3b can't support this, it should say so. The resulting burned disks do indeed have I/O errors as verified by a dd to /dev/null, so k3b is screwing up here in the I/O and not just borking the ISO format, since dd would be reading blocks with no knowledge of the ISO format. Is this us, or an upstream problem ?
It could be a bad blank dvd in the drive. Does dmesg or the journal show any errors during the burn?

No, I burned 5 coasters using blanks from two different spindles on two different cauldron systems using three different drives. But I'll check journalctl - good idea.

I dont have a optical drive, nor do I run cauldron, but as a reference, on mga8, K3b menu Settings > Configure K3b > Advanced > [x] Allow overburning. If not found please ask the k3b project about it. (or if you can find by web search)

Closing this as INVALID since the title is misleading. I'll open another on wodim if more information comes in.
