I think I'm using the nVidia driver.. xorg.conf has driver nvidia # lspci -vvv -s 01:00.0 at the end it has Kernel driver in use: nvidia Kernel modules: nouveau, nvidiafb, nvidia-current

No : you can still change the video card's clocks. This update should be pushed IMHO.
