Description sturmvogel 2022-07-27 17:42:01 CEST
Host: MGA8 64bit
Guests: MGA8 64bit/32bit, Fedora 35

Starting with Virtualbox-6.1.36 it is no longer possible to launch any guest when USB2.0 or USB3.0 is enabled. This is independend from the guest OS and type (64/32bit).
It also doesn't matter if it is a existing VB guest or if you try to create a new one.

If you set the USB type to USB1.1 the guest can start and can be created.

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):
virtualbox-6.1.36-1.mga8.src.rpm

How reproducible:
Install virtualbox-6.1.36-1
Create a new guest/start an existing guest with USB type USB2.0 or USB3.0
Guest won't start and crashes

The same effect was discovered on openSUSE Tumbleweed but with virtualbox-6.1.34

Hmmmmpf. INVALID. This problem is caused by not matching Oracle_VM_VirtualBox_Extension_Pack
