Description of problem: I can open Steam just fine, but as I click the green button Play to start Football Manager 2014 it looks like its going to start, but nothing happens after that window. To check if any of the Steam client updates caused this to happen I run steam --reset && steam. The complete output after running steam is attached in the log file. Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable): 1.0.0.70 How reproducible: All the time. Steps to Reproduce: 1. Open Steam. 2. Install Football Manager 2014. 3. Run the game. 4. The game GUI does not open.
There is no Football Manager 2014 available on Steam. No information if it is a Linux/Mac/Windows game. Windows games runs in most cases with Proton but there is no guarantee for it. Sometimes they only run with a specific Proton version. Always check https://www.protondb.com/ for support. INVALID.

And this: https://steamdb.info/app/231670/
This game (from 2013) is not available anymore in Steam. It is only available for ppl who bought it in the past (it's in their library). We don't support 3rd party apps/games.

But we DO support Steam and clearly this a problem in the middle of X and Steam.
So, the problem is NOT the game itself. It's the communication between X and the Steam client. The game has worked before just so you know.

So $DISPLAY seem to be set correctly, and other steam apps works but just not this old game? I think you should ask that game developers.
