Description of problem: I installed the proprietary ATI driver about 2 weeks ago for my Radeon HD 4350 and it was all OK until yesterday when I updated. I noticed some xorg packages among the updates. Now I can't get to KDM because X crashes. I can only login in console mode. I will attach the X log file. Reproducible: Steps to Reproduce:
Created attachment 98 [details] x server log file
Also the fifth line of the log file mentions Mandriva. Is it by design?
You updated to X server 1.10 from the core/testing repo; fglrx doesn't support 1.10 yet (should do so soon thanks to the influence of ubuntu...). However there's a conflicts in the x11-driver-video-fglrx package that should have prevented installing x11-server*-1.10 packages, but it didn't work as upstream X jupmed from driver ABI 8 to ABI 10 (ABI 9 was only used in the 1.10 RC's, IIUC). I've submitted a new fglrx package to prevent updating to x11-server-1.10 until fglrx supports 1.10. You should disable the core/testing repo and manually revert to: x11-server-common-1.9.4 x11-server-xorg-1.9.4 x11-driver-input-evdev-2.6.0-1.mga1 x11-driver-input-keyboard-1.5.99.901-1.mga1 x11-driver-input-mouse-1.6.99.901-1.mga1

Thank you for your help, I will rather install alpha 2 when it arrives, so I can test the installer again.
OK :) Closing as fixed (since now the conflicts in fglrx has been corrected so that the current version (incompatible with X server 1.10) doesn't allow X 1.10 to get installed without alerting the user).
