Description Thomas Backlund 2022-07-02 10:45:11 CEST
Update to 10.4
Contains some 210+ fixes over the current 10.3

already built glibc, binutils, kernel and gcc itself to ensure no regressions...

and all packages in core updates testing built since "Tue 28 Jun 2022 05:36:16 PM CEST" have also been built with this so it gets tested...

for testing just install it and keep using your systems..
(of course feel free to test building stuff too :) ...)

MGA8-64 Plasma on Acer Aspire 5253
This update requires the update from bug 30595, so took that one in one update operation.
No ill effects after the update.

mga8, x64
Installed and updated all the packages plus glibc and binutils.
Reboot.

The procedure link points to the compilation of openssl but does not list the source files.
I guess a local build would be the way to go. Shall look into it sometime.

Checked ASAN by compiling a test for an old PoC.
$ gcc -o useafterfree -fsanitize=address -O1 -fno-omit-frame-pointer -g use-after-free.c
Running useafterfree showed the output from the address sanitizer and an ABORT.

Used gfortran to compile a noddy Fortran90 program from IBM. The binary worked.

MGA8-64 Plasma.

Updated binutils, gcc, and glic all together, and have been using them off and on all day with no apparent issues.

Comment 5 Thomas Andrews 2022-07-06 16:55:45 CEST
Tested on Foolishness, my Dell Inspiron 5100, real 32-bit hardware, MGA8-32 Xfce system.

Updated binutils, gcc, and glibc all at once, and rebooted. I didn't run it for long, but long enough to use qarepo and drakrpm-update to test the pending webkit2 update. No issues noted.
