Description Edward 2022-07-01 14:56:25 CEST
Description of problem:

LXDE and LXQt desktops installed.

When composing a reply in Claws Mail, there are two "To:" fields present in the Compose window, which is the normal behavior per the Claws development team. This results in a scroll bar appearing at the right side of that section of the window.

Between the "To:" and "Subject:" fields, there should be a line in the GUI which can be grabbed by the mouse, producing a double-arrow cursor to expand or contract that section as needed, expanding it will eliminate the presence of the scroll bar, however, this grabber (?) line does not appear to be present in the GUI, using either LXDE or LXQt.

While randomly clicking along that space, I hit something that expanded the area, removing the scroll bar, but I have been unable to replicate. I do now know what I hit.

I am attaching a screenshot showing the apparent lack of this line.

I also have Debian (testing) in another virtual machine, which also has 4.1.0 installed and this particular line *is* present in Debian's Claws Mail GUI and am able to expand/contract that area as needed.

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):

4.1.0

I am currently in a discussion on the Claws email list regarding this.

What I have discovered so far:

The line is there, however it can only be moved up/down when the mouse pointer arrow is actually inside the Subject field in the Compose window, instead of directly on that line.

In the Main message window, the mouse pointer must be inside the white space where the message text is, in order to move the line, which is above that.

When in those parts of the windows, once the mouse pointer switches from the "I" to the arrow, that's when it can be dragged.

What I'm finding, is that the mouse pointer must be slightly below the line (in white space/Subject field) in order to drag the line(s), but the mouse pointer should actually be on the line itself to do that.

Could this be a GUI issue?

Or maybe a theme issue?
