Switched to the server kerenl on the Core i9 machine without any problems.
Tested on Foolishness, my Dell Inspiron 5100, P4, Radeon RV200 graphics, ath3k wifi, 32-bit Xfce system using kernel-desktop. Webkit has been downgraded on this machine, due to Bug 30332. It was not re-updated for this test. No installation issues. After reboot, no issues noted.

Rebooted to the server kernel. Mate desktop functioning as before. Bluetooth audio comes up without any configuration. Removed some stale kernels and rebuilt the grub2 bootloader.
Follow-on from comment 2: That system boots to the desktop kernel OK as well and runs without issues.

considering the patch was posted ~1.5 days after the kernel was built, how could it be in this kernel... but it's not exploitable in default kernel configs, as it the feature is protected by CAP_SYS_ADMIN privilegies...
