Description w unruh 2022-04-14 08:07:34 CEST
Description of problem: Misprint in gimp program

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):gimp-2.10.24-1.mga8

How reproducible: Always

I get the following error if I run gimp from the terminal
  File "/home/unruh/.config/GIMP/2.10/plug-ins/ofn-text-along-path.py", line 54
    print s
          ^
SyntaxError: Missing parentheses in call to 'print'. Did you mean print(s)?

While this line is prefaced by
debug=False
def trace(s):
    if debug:
        print s

so that erroneous line will never be reached, it is probably a good idea to fix this anyway, as it might bite in the future.

Where did you get this plugin from? This is an error in the plugin and should be reported upstream. Please open an upstream bugreport. This can‘t be fixed by Mageia. Awaiting some additional opinions from Morgano and/or Lewis before closing this bugreport as Invalid.

Thank you Bill for discovering this. You did not say whether it stops the plugin from working within Gimp.

sturmvogel is right. 'ofn-text-along-path' is not in our offerings, which seem to be just:
 gimp-plugin-animstack
 gimp-plugin-bgmask
 gimp-plugin-gmic

Doubtless telling you what you already know, but I looked it up:
 https://sourceforge.net/projects/gimp-path-tools/files/scripts/
"Ofnuts' Gimp path tools Files" tells about it and its companions, their download & installation.
And "For support visit http://www.gimp-forum.net"; where you can presumably persue what you found, which as you noted is both nonsense & erroneous. Please do.

So you will understand closing this bug.
