Strange. I installed the 64bit version on two different machines and they startet right away. Could you provide the output from console? Maybe there are some additional messages which could help to nail down the problem on your machine.

@kalagani Is this on two separate machines, 64 & 32 bit? Or two VMs on a 64-bit box? To describe the systems briefly, please post the outputs of $inxi -MSD Wondering whether the dektop matters re previous comment. I apparently already had 'fio-3.24-2.mga8', and added 'kdiskmark-2.1.0-1.mga8'. Running 64-bit real hardware from terminal under LXDE: $ kdiskmark showed no further terminal output, but did indeed pop a window saying: "KDiskMark No FIO was found. Please install FIO before using KDiskMark" exactly as reported. Same result from menu. May try under Plasma. This application is nursed by wally, so assigning to you. Ask for anything you think might help.

Regarding Lewis comment: I testet it on two Plasma machines.
Just re-tried this under Plasma, and the reported error occurs; from menu or terminal - no terminal ouput at all.
@Lewis Smith yes, I am launching on 2 separates machines, not in VMs! 64 bits with XFCE inxi -MSD System: Host: HPxw9400 Kernel: 5.15.32-desktop-1.mga8 x86_64 bits: 64 Desktop: Xfce 4.16.0 Distro: Mageia 8 mga8 Machine: Type: Desktop System: Hewlett-Packard product: HP xw9400 Workstation v: N/A serial: CZC74879RF Mobo: Hewlett-Packard model: 0A1Ch v: D serial: CZC74879RF BIOS: Hewlett-Packard v: 786D6 v04.03 date: 12/10/2009 Drives: Local Storage: total: 1.09 TiB used: 845.36 GiB (75.6%) ID-1: /dev/sdc vendor: Seagate model: ST3300655SS size: 279.4 GiB ID-2: /dev/sdd vendor: Seagate model: ST3300655SS size: 279.4 GiB ID-3: /dev/sde vendor: Seagate model: ST3300655SS size: 279.4 GiB ID-4: /dev/sdf vendor: Seagate model: ST3300655SS size: 279.4 GiB 32 bits with Cinnamon inxi -MSD System: Host: KV8 Kernel: 5.15.32-desktop-1.mga8 i686 bits: 32 Desktop: Cinnamon 4.8.3 Distro: Mageia 8 mga8 Machine: Type: Desktop Mobo: Abit model: KV8 Pro (VIA K8T800P-8237) v: 1.x serial: N/A BIOS: Phoenix v: 6.00 PG date: 04/13/2005 Drives: Local Storage: total: 111.79 GiB used: 16.59 GiB (14.8%) ID-1: /dev/sda vendor: Seagate model: ST3120022A size: 111.79 GiB @sturmvogel, like I have a third 64 bits PC under Plasma, I installed the kdiskmark and his dependency fio rpm -qa --last |grep -E "kdisk|fio" kdiskmark-2.1.0-1.mga8.x86_64 ven. 08 avril 2022 11:16:58 fio-3.24-2.mga8.x86_64 ven. 08 avril 2022 11:16:57 Then launching it is NOK with same error dialog box "KDiskMark No FIO was found. Thanks for all the system information - especially the variety of hardware & desktops. I started to wonder whether the error occurs with >1 disc: your 32-bit box (OK) has 1, the two 64-bit boxes (not OK) >1. Do not know for sturmvogel, but alas, my 64-bit box (not OK) has just 1: $ inxi -D Drives: Local Storage: total: 931.51 GiB used: 38.28 GiB (4.1%) ID-1: /dev/sda vendor: Seagate model: ST1000DM003-9YN162 size: 931.51 GiB kdiskmark-2.1.0-1.mga8 fio-3.24-2.mga8 So we are stuck with the fault occuring often, but not always; and it does not depend on the number of disks nor desktop. I found nothing with an Internet search.

Hi, I discovered the difference between 64 and 32 bits when I wanted to upgrade an old PC with a 32 bit processor, Mageia8/Cinnamon 32 on an IDE HD. As the motherboard was able to do it, I changed the processor to 64bit and installed Mageia8/XFCE in 64bit on a SATA HD. On this new configuration I also have the same error on the old PC now with MGA8/XFCE 64 bits on a SATA DD (previously MGA8/Cinnamon 32 bits on a IDE DD like in Comment 5) inxi -MSD System: Host: localhost Kernel: 5.15.32-desktop-1.mga8 x86_64 bits: 64 Desktop: Xfce 4.16.0 Distro: Mageia 8 mga8 Machine: Type: Desktop Mobo: Abit model: KV8 Pro (VIA K8T800P-8237) v: 1.x serial: <superuser required> BIOS: Phoenix v: 6.00 PG date: 04/13/2005 Drives: Local Storage: total: 153.38 GiB used: 15.44 GiB (10.1%) ID-1: /dev/sda vendor: Hitachi model: HDS722516VLSA80 size: 153.38 GiB kdiskmark-2.1.0-1.mga8.x86_64 mer. 16 mars 2022 21:11:52 fio-3.24-2.mga8.x86_64 mer. 16 mars 2022 21:11:52
