mga8, x64. Installed all but the source packages on Intel i9, NVIDIA GTX 1080 Ti. No problems. Rebooted to a working desktop with new kmods. Virtualbox works, bluetooth audio with vlc video. wifi printing via CUPS/HPLIP OK. Thunderbird, networking, NFS, NAS, glmark2 all OK. docker demon starts and docker runs fine. stellarium, celestia, darktable and gimp work as well.

@PC LX: with reference to comment 2 Thanks for your very thorough testing - you are the resident expert on PHP. The report missed its mark - we have all done it! More than once.

More than once. Oops!!! Have copied it to where it should have been in the first place. https://bugs.mageia.org/show_bug.cgi?id=30056#c6 Len Lawrence, thanks for pointing it.
mga8, 64, on my my workstation; i7, Plasma nvidia-current Have been using it occasionally today. One time after screensaver, desktop background was black and no desktop panel. Used it anyway a couple minutes to complete a task, but suddenly I was at sddm login... Could not pinpoint something in journal Rebooted the system and see if I see it again...

MGA8-64, on Xfce, Toshiba Laptop AMD A6-3420M APU Radeon HD 6520G RTL8188CE 802.11b/g/n WiFi Adapter The following 4 packages are going to be installed: - cpupower-5.16.10-2.mga8.x86_64 - kernel-desktop-5.16.10-2.mga8-1-1.mga8.x86_64 - kernel-desktop-latest-5.16.10-2.mga8.x86_64 - kernel-userspace-headers-5.16.10-2.mga8.x86_64 77MB of additional disk space will be used. --- rebooted $ uname -a Linux localhost 5.16.10-desktop-2.mga8 #1 SMP PREEMPT Fri Feb 18 19:33:37 UTC 2022 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux - wifi works - browser working - libreoffice working - Exaile working (sound) While this hardware doesn't test new scheduling and functionality, legacy is working fine. I think we'd need a 12th gen Intel for that.

mga8-64 OK same machine as comment 6, i have not seen the problem again after updating util-linux bug 29565, rebooting, and using occasionally yesterday and today. $ uname -a Linux svarten.tribun 5.16.10-desktop-2.mga8 #1 SMP PREEMPT Fri Feb 18 19:33:37 UTC 2022 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux $ dkms status showing OK BOINC detects CUDA and OpenCL Hardware: My workstation "svarten": Mainboard: Sabertooth P67, CPU: i7-3770, RAM 16G, GM107 [GeForce GTX 750] using nvidia-current; GeForce 635 series and later, 4k display. Disk&Filesystem: SSD with /boot/EFI and ext4 /boot, LUKS{LVM {swap, ext4 /home & / } and a spinner at /mnt/spinner Tested: Plasma desktop; using Thunderbird, LibreOffice, Ktorrent, Nextcloud client, Firefox ESR, flatpak Firefox, java program FriBOK, ... VirtualBox: a) Guest: my usual MSW7pro-64, quick test surfing, video. b) BOINC project Rosetta automatically launching four to six virtual machines (RAM is the limit), seem to be processing OK, except sometimes disk access go way up and a machine stall, (BOINC/project/virtualbox bug i think) - using a separate disk so not affecting my work.
MGA8-64 Plasma on an AMD Phenom II X4 910, Radeon HD 8490 graphics, Atheros-based wifi card, as well as a rtl8192eu usb wifi dongle. No installation issues. Terminal messages indicated that the rtl8192eu module built and installed with no issues. Rebooted to a working desktop. Could establish a working connection with either wifi device. Tried this and that for a few minutes, no issues noted.
