Ah, lots to build yes... :) mga8-64, Plasma Clean install, tried calc and writer Stupid: it still loose cursor! Bug 29647 - loss of cursor/prompt LibreOffice Writer Flagship office tool loosing cursor is embarassing! Should we lift a discussion on when we can switch to 7.3 ?
MGA8-64 Plasma on Lenovo B50 in Dutch Installed with Dutch lanaguage packs. Tried odb test file and still same problem : report does not run: [jni_uno bridge error] UNO calling Java method execute: non-UNO exception occurred: java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: org/apache/commons/logging/LogFactory java stack trace: java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: org/apache/commons/logging/LogFactory at etc ...... I.e. bug 29556 still applies. This is unacceptable to me.I have to recur to the rpm's LO provides.

If bug 29647 is fixed in version 7.3, I think we should not waste more time in versions 7.2.x We should go up to version 7.3 for Mageia 8 and Cauldron. This version works fine for me, but i can confirm that bug 29647 is here...

If the bug is upstream, We can't make nothing, only wait to the 7.3 version is stable, and announce to the users. Which version is packaged in Cauldron? Perhaps, we should package the 7.3 version in cauldron and mga8 testing and wait to the official announcement for release in Mageia 8 too, while QA testing validate 7.3 version. This is an idea...

I have had an idea!! - First. I have Installed libreoffice from konsole. I have selected "kf5" option. I have tried a test in Writer... the cursor disappears. After I have unninstalled libreoffice.. - Second. I have installed libreoffice from konsole. I have selected "x11" option. I jave tried a test in Writer, the cursor remains. I have carried out this test several times. So, the problem is "kf5" package?? Some packager can check this? Somebody from QA can confirm this?

From Comment 10: "According to the Libreoffice release schedule, version 7.3 will be released between 31 January and 6 February...." That final date is nearly a month away, and as we at Mageia know full well, it's probably not set in stone. Since a workaround has been discovered for bug 29647, I'd say that unless some new regression is discovered in testing 7.2.5.2-1, we should send it through so that our users get those 90 bug fixes now, rather than wait a month. (Herman, I'm not ignoring bug 29556. But, it's not a new regression.)

Libreoffice will function on Plasma without it, but it uses the gtk3 dialog boxes for things like opening, saving, and printing if it isn't there. Intel i5-2500, Intel graphics, 64-bit Plasma system. Used the list from Comment 3 in qarepo to download all packages. Updated, with no installation issues. I use Calc more than anything else, but I use Writer now and then, too. I do not commonly use the other components. Loaded and played with some existing spreadsheets, and did the same with some Writer and older Word documents. Loaded an image into Draw and played around with that. No new regressions noted.

Confirmed. We do not have a locales-vro in Mageia 8. This is apparently an old, yet undiscovered, problem and may date back before Mageia 8, as none of the M8 autocorr-vro packages in our repos can be selected for install in MCC because there is no locales-vro. It is an Estonian language, and more information about it can be found at https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/V%C3%B5ro_language It appears that we need to either generate a locales-vro, or decide not to support the language and drop anything that needs it, like autocorr-vro.
this can't be a blocker for the release ( previous had this )
