Description of problem:
Kicad is broken, loading issue with _eeschema.kiface: undefined symbol
It may be an compilation issue (see the url)

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):
1:5.1.9-2.mga8

How reproducible:
Every time on my PC

Steps to Reproduce:
1. install Kicad
2. launch it
3. create new project
4. launch eeschema (schematic editor)

Problem solved in Version-Release number:
1:5.1.9-2.1.mga8 from the core update testing (distrib 5)

so I put it in resolved status

Resolution: (none) => FIXED
Status: NEW => RESOLVED

It shouldn't be closed as fixed until the packages are moved from updates
testing to updates.

That will not happen until the rest of the packages that are impacted by the
wxgtk update are also updated and ready to be moved, all at once.

bug 29848 is being used to track all of the other packages that are currently
broken by having the wxgtk update installed.

Thank you for the report; and particularly your comment 1 - at least that that works.
Please post the output of:
 $ rpm-q wxgtk3.1
because the version number of this is in a state of flux. From your comment 1, that for kicad is clear: kicad-5.1.9-2.1.mga8

Please note also that kicad version 6 is hoped for very soon:
 https://bugs.mageia.org/show_bug.cgi?id=28352#c43
so it would be better to try that when it becomes available.

All of those were moved now, including newer kicad
https://advisories.mageia.org/MGAA-2022-0013.html
