Description of problem: When running the Arkham Knight performance test, the 5.15 kernel amdgpu reports running out RAM while the 5.10.78 does not. The test hangs and dmesg reports this: [drm:amdgpu_cs_ioctl [amdgpu]] *ERROR* Not enough memory for command submission! Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable): 5.15.4 How reproducible: This problem manifested itself on 5.14 and 5.15 but never on 5.10. Steps to Reproduce: 1.Install Batman Arkham Knight from GOG. 2.Install wine. 3.Install DXVK 1.9.2 with winetricks. Do all of this on a AMD 5700g using the integrated Cezanne graphics. This "bug" is more of a curiosity, in that 5.10 seems to be able to allocate GPU ram well beyond 2GB while 5.15 seems to but up against 2GB. My host machine is an HP TP01-2066 with a B550-A (which should read a B450) motherboard and NO controls for manipulating GPU RAM. I am wondering if there is a switch for AMDGPU that allows APUs to continue allocating RAM or if the 5.15 has a hard stop at 2GB? The priority on this "bug" should be quite low because 5.15 is working very well for all other tasks and this issue only happens in very high GPU RAM usage scenarios.
