Please Import the Purple-Matrix module for Pidgin and Spectrum 2.
@ Zombie Please update this request so that it complies with https://wiki.mageia.org/en/How_to_report_a_bug_properly#How_to_file_a_package_request : * (Summary) please give "the package name", "a short summary of the programs purpose" Example: vagrant, a tool to build virtualized environments with VirtualBox (so please don't put "[Package Request]" in the summary please use only lower case (small) letters in the package names, that will make it easier to check once in a while whether we already have them. * (Details) tell why you think the software is great and what you need it for.

Zombie, you've filed 80 package requests so far, but we did apparently never teach you how to file them correctly. Please read the instructions in the link above and comply with them from now on, starting with updating this package request.
@Zombie Sorry to have left this, it disappeared from the radar. Do you still want to persue this request?

Yes. Now that I know that Mageia has a build service now, I may wind up applying for packager access just because I absolutely have too to get things done. For the longest time, I was under the impression Mageia lacked a build cluster and that packagers had to build RPMs on their local systems. This is why I am now a Packager for Rosa and OpenSuse, but not Mageia. I couldn't support that. Yes I do. I am in the middle of a Migration from Rosa to OpenSuse.
Great! You are much welcome aboard :) For quality reasons we have procedure. Unfortunately there seem to be a queue of apprentices looking for mentors, packagers are too busy packaging... a bad loop... i hope it will get better soon. Start by registering on dev mailing list, post a message that you want to become a packager, presenting yourself, skills, interests (what you would like to work on) dev mailing list https://ml.mageia.org/l/info/dev All lists https://wiki.mageia.org/en/Mailing_lists IRC https://wiki.mageia.org/en/Mageia_IRC_Channels_Liberachat https://wiki.mageia.org/en/Becoming_a_Mageia_Packager https://wiki.mageia.org/en/Packagers_Mentoring_Howto

Thank you for a more positive response. (In reply to Zombie Ryushu from comment #4) > I am now a Packager for Rosa and OpenSuse, but not Mageia. I couldn't > support that. Not sure what you mean by "I couldn't support that." That it would be too much to do? Understandable - unless you confine packaging to just those you proposed. This would help everybody. > Yes I do. Does this mean you wish to continue with this request to have 'purple-matrix' in Mageia? If so, I add the following from the given URL: "purple-matrix This project is a plugin for libpurple which adds the ability to communicate with matrix.org homeservers to any libpurple-based clients (such as Pidgin). Status This project is somewhat alpha, and only basic functionality has been implemented. Sending and receiving simple text messages is supported, as is joining rooms you are invited to by other users." It does not look good enough yet to add, so please justify why you think it matters now rather than when it is a bit mature.

Additionally this project got abandoned: Quote from GitHub Update 2022/04/11 This project is essentially unmaintained. It may still work for you, in which case good luck to you; however, it lacks many important features that are critical to a modern Matrix client (not least of which is end-to-end encryption support). So more a WONTFIX.

Thanks for spotting that :-) Changing the status according to your suggestion.
