Description Mark Dawson Butterworth 2021-08-05 12:54:38 CEST
Description of problem:

When nmapsi4 is installed, it is not added to the menu on Xfce. This means there is a loss of functionality between Mageia 7 and Mageia 8, as Nmap GUI was in the menu for nmap-frontend which has been replaced by nmapsi4

This problem does not occur with Plasma. It may be unique to Xfce.

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):

How reproducible:

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Install nmapsi4 whilst running Xfce desktop
2. Look for it in menu
3. It isn't there

MGA8-64 Xfce on Lenovo B50
No installation issues.
Logged out and in again to be sure Xfce is started completely OK.
Then installed nmapsi4 in MCC, and menu entry OK.

Comment 4 Mark Dawson Butterworth 2021-08-08 14:32:53 CEST
Hi Herman. Would you mind confirming this was with mageia-xfce-config-4.16.8.1-1.mga8 please? It didn't work for me on X86_64 with mageia-xfce-config-4.16.8.1-1.mga8 but does with mageia-xfce-config-4.16.8.2-1.mga8
Comment 5 Herman Viaene 2021-08-09 08:45:02 CEST
I tested mageia-xfce-config-4.16.8.2-1.mga as indicated in Comment 2.
Comment 6 Mark Dawson Butterworth 2021-08-09 19:36:06 CEST
Thanks Herman, so we have two confirmations that the fix in core/updates_testing works.
