Just upgraded my main machine to Mageia 8, and amdgpu finally works! Also have two other workstations running this radeon-firmware update.

Didn't read anything about changes to the firmware for my Southern Islands chip, so since this fixes operation with some newer chips I'm sending it on without trying it myself. If it turns out my system stops working, expect a loud complaint. ;-) Validating.
