Description Alexander Martynenko 2011-10-03 14:26:25 CEST
Description of problem:

If turn on Compiz-fusion, and login into system
fastly (in 2-3 sec) after login window appear,
system boots up, but video render troubles appears
(windows won't redraws, windows freezes when moving them etc).
So bad, it looks like total system failure.
If make a pause approx 10 sec between login window appear
and logon into system, all works finely.

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):

Acer 5620
Intel 810 driver
System Mageia 1 after update from Mandriva 2010.2

How reproducible:

Every time I boot-up system.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Turn on 3D-extension in Video Driver option
2. Turn on Compiz-Fusion
3. Fast enter username and password (in 2-3 sec) and logon

Maybe "graphics render trouble" or "windows render trouble" is a better description. No video stream playback means. Please, change bug name if possible.

Do you use systemd and/or speedboot ?
Comment 4 Alexander Martynenko 2011-10-05 14:03:40 CEST
Systemd is not installed:
[root@localhost elss]# rpm -qa |grep -c systemd
0

About speedboot:
[root@localhost elss]# cat /etc/sysconfig/speedboot |grep -v "#"
SPEEDBOOT=auto
[root@localhost elss]# cat /var/lib/speedboot/status |grep mga
2.6.38.8-desktop586-5.mga OK

What's the output of "lspcidrake -v|grep Card"?
Also attach (not paste) your /etc/X11/xorg.conf and your /var/log/Xorg.0.log

As a temporary solution, I turned off speedboot in /etc/sysconfig/speedboot.
Without speedboot all works correctly.

I'm probably wrong to assign to you, but the more wrong it is, the faster you'll tell me and the faster it'll be assigned to the correct RPM ;)

Oh, btw, I don't know whether we consider such issues resolved when turning off speedboot makes the problem disappear.

This message is a reminder that Mageia 1 is nearing its end of life.
In approximately 25 days from now, Mageia will stop maintaining and issuing
updates for Mageia 1. At that time this bug will be closed as WONTFIX (EOL) if it
remains open with a Mageia 'version' of '1'.

Package Maintainer: If you wish for this bug to remain open because you plan to
fix it in a currently maintained version, simply change the 'version' to a later
Mageia version prior to Mageia 1's end of life.

Bug Reporter: Thank you for reporting this issue and we are sorry that we may not
be able to fix it before Mageia 1 is end of life. If you would still like to see
this bug fixed and are able to reproduce it against a later version of Mageia,
you are encouraged to click on "Version" and change it against that version
of Mageia.

Although we aim to fix as many bugs as possible during every release's lifetime,
sometimes those efforts are overtaken by events. Often a more recent Mageia
release includes newer upstream software that fixes bugs or makes them obsolete.

Comment 15 Manuel Hiebel 2012-12-02 14:36:33 CET
Mageia 1 changed to end-of-life (EOL) status on ''1st December''. Mageia 1 is no
longer maintained, which means that it will not receive any further security or
bug fix updates. As a result we are closing this bug.

If you can reproduce this bug against a currently maintained version of Mageia
please feel free to click on "Version" change it against that version of Mageia
and reopen this bug.

Thank you for reporting this bug and we are sorry it could not be fixed.
