Installed server and desktop kernels in Mate. Smooth reboot to server version in Xfce. 5.10.45-server-2.mga8 x86_64 10-Core Intel Core i9-7900X NVIDIA GP102 [GeForce GTX 1080 Ti] driver: nvidia v: 460.84 NFS shares mounted already. Virtualbox working. The workspace switcher works - Windows cannot be dragged from one workspace to another - must be a property of Xfce of which I was ignorant. stress and graphics tests work. File manager works OK. vlc video works but bluetooth sound does not (working in Mate before the update). Get back to that later.

Mga8-64 desktop OK here; with Plasma, VirtualBox, Nvidia-current, CUDA... Everything is updated to testing; including mesa 21.1.3 $ uname -a Linux svarten.tribun 5.10.45-desktop-2.mga8 #1 SMP Sat Jun 19 15:26:51 UTC 2021 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux Hardware: My workstation "svarten": Mainboard: Sabertooth P67, CPU: i7-3770, RAM 16G, GM107 [GeForce GTX 750] using nvidia-current; GeForce 635 series and later, 4k display. Disk&Filesystem: SSD with /boot/EFI and ext4 /boot, LUKS{LVM {swap, ext4 /home & / } and a spinner at /mnt/spinner dkms status tells me VirtualBox and nvidia-current are OK. BOINC detects CUDA and OpenCL Plasma desktop, using Thunderbird, LibreOffice, Ktorrent, Nextcloud client, flatpak Firefox... Video with sound in Mageia Firefox ESR and Flatpak Firefox. Stress test: While working with other things BOINC use all cores to 100%, videos do not stutter in Chromium, but slighlty in Firefox, which is rather normal. VirtualBox running MSW7 64 bit OK: graphics, window resize, bidirectional clipboard, drag file from Dolphin to Explorer (the reverse i have never seen working), folder sharing write protected and not, USB2 with plugin from upstream using USB stick, internet video playing in Firefox and Chrome.

Follow-on from comment 5: switched to Mate and found that bluetooth sound was working in fact. Must have been finger trouble. All good.
Comment 6 followed from comment 4. Rebooted to the desktop kernel on the comment 4 system. Nvidia graphics driver rebuilt. Mate working fine, virtualbox, bluetooth audio, video and dvb T2 TV. stress tests, glmark2, LO writer (bluetooth and wifi printing), stellarium, all working as expected. Not quite true for bluetooth printing in LO. The setup is for A5 and LO allows that to be specified explicitly also but the results are not good. Using the cli on a text file results in the CUPS settings being obeyed. $ lpr -Pprocyon if.txt However this has nothing to do with the kernel - need to report a bug against LibreOffice writer I guess.
Server kernel booted to Mate desktop. Rebuilt nvidia graphics driver. 5.10.45-server-2.mga7 x86_64 Quad Core: Intel Core i7-4790 NVIDIA GM204 [GeForce GTX 970] driver: nouveau v: kernel Network up, NFS shares ready. Youtube in Firefox, sound and video OK. Sound routed to bluetooth speaker. Used servercheck ruby script to examine Mageia releases. Ran into trouble again with LO writer. Tried a wifi print of a normal ODT file and the printer insisted that it needed photo paper. Trying to reassert the default options in the CUPS web interface resulted in root being locked out. The print came out eventually after a printer retry. Generally speaking the server kernel works fine.
Is there something funny going on with firefox? It looks like it is no longer possible to administer printers from the CUPS interface.
http://localhost:631/admin seem to work here.
(In reply to Len Lawrence from comment #9) > Is there something funny going on with firefox? It looks like it is no > longer possible to administer printers from the CUPS interface. Not relevant to the kernel. Load http://localhost:631, and disable noscript for that tab.

@Dave Hodgins -> comment 11 Thanks for the response. Yes, I had already assumed that this is not relevant to the kernel so maybe I should have taken this to Discuss but this came up in testing the desktop as part of the kernel testing. However, I have no idea where to find 'noscript'. You say "for that tab" which implies it is a firefox setting as opposed to a CUPS setting but not a general one. So how do you access the parameter?
A web search turns up several references to NoScript which can be disabled in the browser configuration, which would then apply to everything. So be it.
That did not work. Setting the printer defaults still comes up with "Forbidden". Not relevant to the kernel so I am done with this. No regressions so far.
MGA7-64 Plasma on Lenovo B50. Omitted devel and serverpackages from installation. Tested wifi interneta access, accessto nfs shares, bunch of file types (odt, ods, odp, odb, xlxx, pdf, tiff, jpg), sound and video from newspapersite. All OK, except for the eternal problem that the grub2 menu gets messed up on this laptop with 3 MGA- and one Win10 installations.

Booted with the desktop kernel after giving the server kernel a run. Kernel: 5.10.45-desktop-2.mga7 x86_64 Quad Core: Intel Core i7-4790 type: MT MCP NVIDIA GM204 [GeForce GTX 970] driver: nouveau v: kernel The nvidia graphics driver had been rebuilt but not selected. Ran drakx11 and rebooted.

Referring to comment 16: After reboot: NVIDIA GM204 [GeForce GTX 970] driver: nvidia v: 460.80 LAN working fine, NFS shares mounted, NAS drive online, LO writer printing to wifi printer, bluetooth audio working with vlc video. Ran stress tests, graphics tests, virtualbox. All running fine.
Same hardware as Comment 17, but with mga7 Plasma, and is using Network Manager and the rtl8192eu wifi driver is installed. No installation issues. The rtl8192eu driver must have been built correctly, as the dongle worked OK after the reboot - as did the internal PCI-e-based Atheros chip. Looks good for mga7 on this hardware.
Dell Inspiron 5100, 32-bit P4, Radeon RV200 graphics, 32-bit mga8 Xfce system, using the desktop kernel. Updated this and the packages from Bug 29156 at the same time. No installation issues, and no issues noted after the reboot.
Same hardware as Comment 20, 32-bit mga7 Xfce system, same results. Looks good here.
No regressions found on any of my installs
Ok here, no issues, it works fine for me in Mga 8 Plasma kde Intel i5
